It is our goal is to provide free counselling to unpaid Carers and supporters of those living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
To meet this goal, we provide placements to trainee counsellors who are at the last stage of their qualification and need to meet the final requirement of their course by gaining 100 supervised hours in practice.
Our journey started in 2016 with 1 counsellor. In July 2023, we partnered with Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance, working with 3 counsellors and 25 trainees. We are on track to reach 40 trainees by April 2024.
Here is a quote from one of our clients; ‘I have found our sessions so useful and she has helped me make sense of my emotions and thoughts. We have discussed coping methods to better enable me to manage my caring responsibilities moving forward. As a result, I feel lighter and far better equipped for the road ahead.’
